You may take your horses in any of the ponds except the swimming pond. Use extreme caution when entering any of the back ponds as the sediment may not be set. There is a stream on the southern side of the property with a blue 1/2 mile trail looping back to pet pond where you may cross the stream if you wish.  Although you may remain on the basic trail around the property and hayfields, most of the trails on the campground are wooded and very scenic. You may ride on any of the roadways or paths on the campground, however, do not enter any wet, mucky areas or go off the trails.

The second loop is approximately two hours and is marked with neon pink marking tape and orange arrows painted on trees. For this loop, you will go right onto Roosevelt Road, ride approximately 500 feet and then turn left to the trail. This loop has the midway point. There will be a toilet, snacks, candy, beverages, and sandwiches available on Saturday and Sunday from 1130-2 p.m. at the midway point. The trail ends at Mill Creek/Hillside Road you will turn left to come back to the campground and/or to go to loop three. Or for less road time, you may ride the second loop back.

If you wish for a longer ride, then turn right (look for blue marking flags) and ride approximately 200 feet to link up to the Mountain Bay Trail. Shawano County has the prettiest 56-mile leg of the Mountain Bay Trail and is open for horseback riding, bicycling, and hiking in the summer months; cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and snowmobiling in the winter months. You will also see the Mountain Bay will at the end of the 2nd loop and you may cut through the woods and get on to the trail.

The third loop is approximately 45 minutes to the west of Mill Creek Road and is marked with neon yellow marking tape. For this loop (from loop two), you will cross Schoolhouse Road and continue south along Mill Creek Road. Ride to the side of Mill Creek Road wherever possible, turn right onto loop three; the trail brings you to Roosevelt Road. Turn left onto Roosevelt and Annie’s Campground is approximately ¼ mile on right.

All loops bring you back to Annie’s Campground.

Enjoy your ride, the scenery, and our natural surroundings--see you on the trail~Bring your horses along! Enjoy local trails on and around the campground; link to the Mountain Bay Trail for an extended 56+ acres of riding possibilities.
